Director: Ton van der Lee | Producer: Ton van der Lee
Focus Years: 2012 | Country: Netherlands
Synopsis:
San (Bushmen) spiritual ceremony / healing trance dance filmed in the Kalahari Desert in Botswana (Africa). The traditional healer dances for hours, gets into a trance, leaves his body to connect with the ancestors and his 'power animal' and returns to the dance to heal the people around the fire with the power he has received. This film is about the healer Tsitano, who grew up as a hunter gatherer in the desert and tells us how he became a healer, first through a vision and then through further training. Tsitano’s power animal is the white dove. After he returned into his body he healed those around the fire (including myself) by touching them and charging them with the energy he received from his power animal. He also tells how he can transform himself into a star and travel around the world.
Camera by Jeffrey Barbee.
