Throughout history many have journeyed far and wide seeking truth from a Guru — one who is regarded as having great knowledge, wisdom and authority in a certain area. Our question is simple: Why have we stopped looking? Jason "Dobby" Dobmeier is an avid world traveler and seeker of truth. In 1998 he had a moving spiritual experience in India when he participated in the Kumbh Mela. With millions of holy men and pilgrims gathered that year in Haridwar to take there sacred bath in the Ganges River, he decided to join them as a pilgrim and immerse himself in their experience. As he made friends, word of his presence spread and he was suddenly sought out by a Guru known as Yogi Pandit Sachidanand. The first time he met Pandit they shared chai tea and talked about a long list of topics that troubled the world. As the conversation transpired, he was surprised and amazed by Pandit's understanding of life and the problems facing the world. How could a man so seemingly isolated know so much about others? Returning to Canada to pursue his business selling cars, Jason never forgot his Guru. Last year, Jason took a cameraman with him on his journey and captured some incredible footage of his quest to find his Guru friend Pandit and to meet more enlightened souls. All over the world, the keepers of knowledge want to speak, but few seek them anymore, until now. GuruQuest will question the divine, walk with the pilgrims and ultimately seek the truth.
