Synopsis:
"Flight of Ideas" is a pioneering documentary of a meditation session, but as if the camera is placed inside the brain. Anything that appears on the screen of consciousness—fantasies, mundane moments, visions, memories—becomes the raw material for the film. At first, the thoughts of the meditator come tumbling out in chaotic profusion, but as the meditation continues, the stream of consciousness soon leads towards sublime (and surreal) imagery of a deeper state of consciousness. Ultimately, it takes us into moments of "samadhi," a state of one-pointed focus filled with supreme well-being. This film, as with meditation in general, allows us to liberate ourselves beyond the tyranny of reason towards the world of heart and intuition, self-fulfillment and personal freedom. Created before the digital revolution, this ground-breaking film uses the most basic technology to take audiences into states of higher consciousness.
