Synopsis:
Hidden to most Americans and to much of the world, Cuba's extraordinary musical heritage lives on in the clubs, homes and performance spaces of Havana. "Havana Centro" traces the music back to its roots, which is partly African and relies on the traditions from the "syncretic" faith of Santería. The film is set to the African beats of Santería and plays out over the vivid colours of the Cuban capital. It offers a rare and delightful look into a world that is hidden to many.
