Synopsis:
Sheena Vaught is mid-production on this documentary about the life and work of painter Ivey Hayes.
Hayes grew up on a farm in Pender County and went to North Carolina Central in Durham. Hayes work can be seen in numerous gallery and private collections. His paintings were uniquely vibrant and depicted scenes of rural life in North Carolina and often incorporated jazz and other musical influences. Hayes passed away last year at the age of 64.
