Synopsis:
The Dances of Universal Peace are a spiritual practice brought through by Samuel L. Lewis, a mystic and spiritual teacher, to help his young students (in San Francisco in the 60s) further their spiritual practice and ground it into the physical plane as an embodied spiritual practice. Since those days, the Dances have spread to six continents and have been experienced with many thousands of people. For many, it is a core spiritual practice, a combination of kirtan and movement.
This film shares the heart of the Dances, answering the question "Why do you do this practice?" by interviewing attendees at a Dance retreat in Canyonlands UT, interspersed with footage of Dances. Quick moving and thoughtful, it was originally created as a way to share with Sky's mother the practice that is so close to Sky's heart.
