After the intrauterine gestation period is completed, the human seed goes through an ecotony zone, a transition margin between the aquatic and aerial ecosystems, where the greatest exchange of energy takes place. It is a crucial rite of passage which will be reflected significantly on the new being's personality and on his attitude to life. At childbirth, the foundations of the individual unconscious are built, as birth represents the first great collision with the realm of duality.
For delivery to happen, a hormonal explosion takes place in the mother's glands, flooding the amniotic fluid with a cocktail of oxytocin, adrenaline and endorphins which, dancing to the beats of uterine contractions, lead to a modified state of consciousness that requires from birth attendants an attitude of extreme sensitivity and empathy so that the moment is not experienced as trauma by either the mother or child.
In this documentary, we reflect our own research about the process, which began by pulling a thread from which many ramifications have already sprouted. From an artistic point of view, we stroll over the trails surrounding the period of germination for the seed of life. We speak with mothers and fathers, gynecologists, doulas, midwives and children, immersing ourselves in their experiences and weaving with them our own story.
