Director: Xander de Boer | Producer: Hollandse Helden
Focus Years: 2013 | Country: Netherlands
Synopsis:
Dennis is thirteen years old and has trouble finding the right words. Dennis has a severe language disorder which prevents him from saying what he really thinks and to understand what people ask him. He is a handsome boy and spends hours in front of the mirror modelling his blond locks. By the looks of him, there’s nothing wrong with him, but when he has to tell a story, he often fails to find the right words.
In "Language Is Not Really My Thing" we see how Dennis deals with his language disorder. He wants to be like other boys his age and not be considered stupid because he can’t put everything into words well. How does Dennis see the world with his wobbly grasp of its language?
