Synopsis:
Based on the diary and letters from a gifted teenager, Stanley Hayami, the film tells the story of a young man, who dreams of becoming an artist and writer, but is thrown into the turmoil of WWII. He is incarcerated along with 120,000 Japanese Americans at the Heart Mountain concentration camp and afterwards drafted to serve in highly decorated 442nd Regimental Combat Team, in Europe. His life-and-death account is a poignant reminder of the indignity of incarceration and the tragedy of war.
