"Horse & Rider: A Journey Towards Freedom" is a non-conventional look into an industry that is growing at exponential rates: selling and buying minors for sex.
Shot on location in India in 2011, this narrative documentary traces the tangled memories of two survivors of child prostitution who have become friends in an aftercare program run by Freedom Firm, a NGO in southern India. There, the two friends study multiple languages, earn money making jewelry and help local disabled children through horse therapy.
"Horse & Rider" is a cinematic pilgrimage from Ooty to Mumbai to Calcutta with riveting first-hand accounts from former victims and family members.
