Director: MARIELA ZUNINO | Producer: MARIELA ZUNINO
Focus Years: 2012 | Country: Bolivia
Synopsis:
Chiapas, Mexico.
Artificial cities are built across the state as a way to fight poverty. The image of hundreds of houses piled up one beside the other, in contrast with rural landscapes where they stand. "Sustainable Rural Cities" is the state program that seeks to "provide every service" to the people of Chiapas. Housing, full employment, health and education. Progress and modernity as flags of a single model that looks down on and ignores Indians/natives and farmers.
