The Indigenous Community of Q'eros, situated in the Amazon between the Andes and Cusco, has maintained its cultural identity for over 500 years, even after the Spanish invasion.
Its cosmological vision compiles and recreates the Andean world's essential thoughts and notions, the depositary of which is Inkarri or “Life's Thoughtâ€. This mythical character incarnates and preserves the ancestral values and wisdom which are the original and valuable interpretation of the Andean world, and of the way of living in it.
Thus, Q'eros' men and women have transformed their territory into a ritual and sacred space - the complex structure of which is, fundamentally, a mediation which harmonizes the sacred and profane. At present, this nation is struggling for the recognition and respect that the State and “modern†society still owe it.
It is the Q'eros themselves who have suggested the way in which this documentary would have to be produced, turning it into a mean to make their voice heard and to give an account of their reality, which is an integral part of Peru.
