Synopsis:
DESAMPARADOS follows the story of several Hispanic families throughout the USA, who have lost their homes and jobs due to the 2008 crisis. The film showcases how these families cope with their fall into poverty. In a few years span, a family that was solidly middle-class has now hit the poverty line. The film deals with what the US press euphemistically calls the new "homeless" population. These "new" homeless are women and children who are unable to stay more than 30 days under one roof, classifying them as homeless. The women are in and out of employment. The film tries to illustrate what is really happening within the United States and how it has affected the Hispanic population.
