ANOTHER WAY TO FIGHT| 1hr : 19mins
Director: João Pinto Nogueira | Producer: Marta Pessoa
Focus Years: 2014 | Country: Portugal
Synopsis:
At the beginning of 1985, the writer Nuno Bragança handles a questionnaire of 13 questions, written on 13 squared paper sheets to his friend Carlos Antunes, offering the space of each sheet for the answers. These 13 questions are a personal and political inquiry of Carlos Antunes, with special interest for his involvement in the creation of the Revolutionary Brigades and the armed struggle against the dictatorship. Nuno Bragança and Carlos Antunes had been comrades in this struggle. Nuno Bragança’s third book, "Square Tolstoi" (1981) regards their involvement with the creation of the Brigades and their first bombing action. The untimely death of the writer, in that same year of 1985, left the questionnaire unanswered and some uncertainty as to its purpose. After more than 20 years, ANOTHER WAY TO FIGHT asks Carlos Antunes to answer these 13 questions, in order to reconstruct a man’s journey and the achievements, delusions and bitterness of the Revolutionary Brigades and of the armed struggle in Portugal, in the years surrounding the 25th of April 1974.
