A simple Moroccan peasant, nicknamed “Hercules†due to his uncommon strength, lives with his family on a spit of land adjacent to a magnificent beach south of Tangier. Hercules and his family live off of the bounty of their land, their livestock, fishing, and income earned by selling food from a straw hut they set up on the beach every summer. Their sole neighbor and recent arrival, Patrick Guerrand-Hermès, heir to the famous French company, has gradually acquired most of the land adjacent to the sublime beach as part of a massive and mysterious real estate venture. Today, Hercules’ small patch of land is surrounded by his neighbor’s properties. Despite ten years of trials and threats, and months of prison, Hercules still does not want to sell. But the father, worn down by years of tiresome struggle, may very well give up the fight...
