La Montagne Perdue (Lost Mountain)| 37mins
Director: Eric Maillet | Producer: Eric Maillet
Focus Years: 2008 | Country: France
Subject Tags: africa, algeria, culture, europe, france, migration

Synopsis:
This film takes a look at Kabyles from Northern Algeria, now living in Paris, who have taken over the tradition of the bougnats, those from France’s Auvergne region who, generations ago, moved to Paris to own cafés. Beyond the similarity (assumed or real) of their destiny as emigrants and of their unique accomplishment in their adopted country, this project sheds light on the mountain landscape, lived through memories, even fantasies.
