Horacio is a 45-year-old Uruguayan soldier. He is the lighthouse keeper on the Island of Sea Lions (Isla de Lobos) in the Atlantic Ocean. Horacio is poor and will soon retire. Meanwhile, he sits amongst the 250,000 sea wolves who keep him company, he dreams of building a sewing machine repair shop in his backyard and giving a future to his 11 year-old daughter. In order to save up enough money to accomplish his dream, Horacio has to return to the land of his ancestors. the DR of Congo, as a member of Uruguay's peace keeping force. But Horacio’s health has been wrecked by service and his plan is now at risk.
