Synopsis:
Part of the series ‘Integrating HIV in Emergency Settings’, this short documentary traced back to the post-election violence that engulfed Kenya during the first months of 2008.
At the height of the violence, Handicap International, an organisation supporting disabled people and the more vulnerable, working in partnership with other relief organisations and the Government of Kenya to provide a coordinated, effective response to the needs of people living with HIV and women affected by gender-based violence.
This documentary shows how this was done, what mechanisms were put in place and their impact on beneficiaries. Some important lessons were learnt and will serve to inform future interventions in energy settings.
