Synopsis:
Mrs Bua is a survivor of torture inflicted by American soldiers during the Vietnam war. Sharing her memories with those around her, without exaggerating she brings to life whole slices of a history that is often forgotten. Memories are often forgotten, having faded into unrecorded history. This simple yet subtle film brings memories of war atrocities alive today among a community, and an unusual woman, Mrs Bua, through humble observations. War songs turn into a lullaby, the child may sleep but you cannot. An excellent debut by Duong Mong Thu.
