Presented with unique obstacles in the lab, field and in their personal lives - female atmospheric scientists face major challenges to advance their careers. ASCENT: Women, Science, Change interviews dozens of brilliant scientists on issues ranging from Mentoring, Networking, Collaborating, Isolation, Storm Peak Lab and the Future of Science.
Atmospheric Science Collaborations and Enriching NeTworks, (ASCENT) is an NSF/Desert Research Institute-funded program, conceived by Nobel Prize-winning scientist Dr, Linnea Avallone, Dr. Gannet Hallar and Ms. Laura Edwards. Developed by women scientists for women scientists the 3-year program has provided OVER 100 female scientists with mentoring, support and inspiration. Through personal stories and on-site interviews, “ASCENT: Women, Science, Change” explores the benefits to science through the professional advancement of female scientists.
