Synopsis:
Musicians without Borders (MwB), established in 1999, is a global network organization using the power of music for healing and reconciliation in areas torn by war and conflict. Our project, Rwanda Youth Music, provides music workshop leadership training, music therapy and outreach events to support and empower thousands of HIV-affected youth and children and to improve their engagement with medical treatment through partner organization WE-ACTx for Hope. Rwanda Youth Music provides a replicable model for using musical interventions to strengthen social bonds, encourage self-expression and build the resilience of HIV-affected young people. This short documentary was made by Micha Hilliard (www.hilliard.ch), in February 2012, during the first preparatory training week for 25 youth leaders.
