Synopsis:
"The Word or Death" is a film about the dangers of fundamentalism and the means to resist it. It's an investigation into the dangerous links between politics and religion, between religions and science. How can the same words from the sacred texts of the Bible or the Koran incite hatred, murder and sacrifice and also light the way to wisdom and life? At the dawn of the 21st century, we are struck by the explosive force of the mix between Biblical or Koranic verses, political messages and murderous acts that inflame wars "in the name of God". But the words, as the music, can also awaken, they can illuminate the spirit and weave bonds over frontiers. This documentary film makes its way between walls and bridges.
