Synopsis:
"Bets" presents the history of sugarcane cutters living in Tarabai, São Paulo inland, and working in regional mills. The documentary discusses the process of migration, working relations and capital consequences, the different cultures, work and health conditions of these migrants. The amazement of seeing piped water for the first time, the injuries of an arduous and destructive profession and the actions to relieve physical and spiritual conditions. The 13 testimonies shown in this documentary invites us to reflect on a reality that many times is relegated to the background or unknown by most people.
