Synopsis:
Warming to the cold embrace of an Autism diagnosis is often very challenging for families. Award-winning independent filmmaker, Robert Parish knows that sinking feeling. When his son Jack was diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in 1996, Parish sank into a deep emotional hole. He dug his way out by producing the critically acclaimed film, COME BACK JACK. During the past 15 years, the Portland, Oregon filmmaker has produced dozens of broadcast and educational videos, written and edited a book and interviewed hundreds of parents, professionals and activists in the Autism community. AUTISM. WARMING TO ITS COLD EMBRACE features the perspectives of many of the passionate advocates Parish has met along his personal ASD journey. Their points of view will add warmth, understanding and inspiration to anyone who has a child or adult with Autism in their lives.
