Synopsis:
"Coal Road to China" explores the ethics and consequences of exporting Powder River Basin coal by rail and ship through proposed Pacific Coast terminals in Washington State and Oregon. Filmed in Montana, Wyoming, Oregon and Washington, it is visually compelling and gets to the heart of the matter. Ranchers, a former coal mine manager, journalist Ross Gelbspan, physicians, a Northern Cheyenne woman, scientists and others speak from their experiences. China's pollution and problems with burning coal are featured throughout the film.
Ultimately, the film deals with the environmental consequences that will result if this coal is burned and the responsibility of generations living today to be good ancestors.
