Synopsis:
The proportion of Hungarian farmers under the age of 35 is 8.5% percent. 30% of those who get land based support are over 60. Youngsters in the countryside do not see the beauty of agriculture anymore. There are more and more programs that are launched to acquaint city people the farmer lifestyle and agriculture. The Countryside Adventure is one of these. In this programme, youngsters from big cities spend a week at a farm, where they work on the fields and deal with animals. But what happens if one of them decides to become a real farmer? Does he have any chance to launch his own business? This film is trying to find the right answers. We present young couples who chose this impossible mission instead of manager tempo. They left the crowded city for countryside peace, though their families had never had any farming background. But we present the other side of the coin, as well. There is an ageing farmer who grew up in agriculture and farming. How does he see this lifestyle and why has he been doing it? What’s his opinion about young city-farmers? These parallel lifestyles show an interesting contrast and at the end of the film, everybody can decide if they would like to become a farmer.
