Synopsis:
For over forty years now, documentary filmmaker Frans Bromet is living with his wife Anita in Ilpendam, a beautiful village in a Dutch polder. The small village also locates the production company of Frans Bromet, where his two daughters and sons-in-law are working. Both of them and their families also live in this water village Ilpendam.
Living there surrounded by all the idyllic water, Frans Bromet has a happy life—until all the news about climate change suddenly appears. The dikes will not be resistant against the rising of the sea level. The climate changes will lead to large floods. Experts predict that Ilpendam will not withstand the water. Within 50 years, the village will have disappeared. Frans wonders whether it is better to leave Ilpendam now and to go and live and work elsewhere with the entire family. In this documentary he tries to gather all the possible information.
