Synopsis:
The Fall River is a place unknown to most, but treasured by some as one of California’s best wild trout fisheries. It is a river facing numerous threats, but it is also a river with a dedicated group of advocates working to enhance this resource and preserve it for generations to come. The river is California's largest spring-fed wild trout fishery. Located approximately 50 miles to the east of Mount Shasta, the river generates up to one million acre feet per year of cold, clean, nutrient rich water, water that is used for hydro-power, agriculture, municipal supply, and outdoor recreation. This film explores the threats and challenges faced by this unique ecosystem and the work of advocacy organization The Fall River Conservancy to address the invasive aquatic species, over-sedimentation, and water quality issues that the Fall Rivers is facing.
