Synopsis:
Household waste being dumped on public lands is a unique problem in the rural south of the United States. For many residents, leaving one’s garbage in secluded areas of the forest was a culturally and legally acceptable alternative to using designated refuse sites, until the environmental reforms of the late 20th century outlawed the practice. Despite this, the tradition, combined with poverty and poor education, has led to a persistent hazard for public and private land managers. No Dumping Allowed is a short documentary examining this issue in central Louisiana, where illegal dump sites are still a regular threat to the environment.
