Synopsis:
91,000 acres of shorelines, wetlands, and water on the Great Salt Lake are in jeopardy. Great Salt Lake Minerals Corporation received a permit from the State of Utah to expand their industrial operations to harvest fertilizer, salt and other minerals by evaporating water from the Great Salt Lake. The director of the film and concerned citizens are appealing to the Army Corps of Engineers to stop this expansion project.
This documentary includes commentary from association leaders, scientists, attorneys, Boy Scouts, and residents of Utah who would like to protect the Great Salt Lake. The film shows the value of the Great Salt Lake from the scientific viewpoint to the aesthetics of the lake to recreational usage. This documentary includes footage of the amazing migratory birds that use the Great Salt Lake as an important stopping point on their annual migration routes.
