Synopsis:
The film investigates toxic chemicals found in and around the Baltic Sea, in wildlife and in human bodies. It shares the insights of various experts on the consequence for the world surrounding us and our unborn children.
Something troubling is happening in and around the Baltic Sea. Several species are under threat or have declined. Welfare diseases like cancer and infertility has increased. Scientists warn against a new wave of environmental toxins. Fetuses and infants are the most vulnerable. Cecilia, an archipelago inhabitant, wants to know more about the chemicals her newborn son Alfred might have inherited. For the first time, scientists are able to analyze infant blood. The result is cause for alarm. It turns out that Alfred has higher levels of certain pollutants than his mother.
