Synopsis:
"Queens of the Alp" is a documentary which plunges us into the world of a breed of cattle unlike any other : the famous "Race d’Herens" named after the Val d’Herens, in the Swiss Alps. The film captures the extraordinary pride of these cows, their independence and their fierce combativeness; as well as the impassioned commitment of a local population - herders, owners and amateurs. Without embellishment or romance, in the muck and under the brilliant sun, between solitude and exaltation, action and contemplation, we accompany cattle and herders during the one hundred days of their stay in a splendorous high alpine pasture.
