Synopsis:
The director never knew her grand-father, Charles Hinstin, except as a hero of a short story by Joseph Kessel, "Le Zombie." Forty years after his death, she discovers that he was a gold digger in Cameroon in the 1930s and had a child there with a native. She decides to find her half-blood uncle who has been forgotten by family and by history. Bit by bit, the colonial past of France comes out.
