Focus Years: 2009 | Country: Austria
Mozambique is a country that has made considerable progress during recent years. The economy in particular has shown impressive growth, however the small-to-medium business sector still has a lot of growing to do. This short video talks about how the Mozambique government, assisted by UNIDO, has introduced entrepreneurship skills to the curriculum at schools and how the idea is to show young people, primarily girls, from an early age the way to a productive future. UNIDO is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability. UNIDO recognizes the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as the overarching framework for collective action and believes that a competitive and environmentally sustainable industry plays a crucial role in accelerating economic growth, thereby reducing poverty and helping to achieve the MDGs. The movies showcase selected activities of UNIDO.
