Synopsis:
“Shlomo. The lost land†tells the heroic story of an ancient Christian people, the Arameans, who still speak Aramaic, the most commonly spoken language in the Holy Land the time of Jesus. A people who are trying to hold on to what was and is their land. Like the Armenians, the Greeks and the Syriacs, the Arameans also became victims of the Christian genocide which begun with the Turkish triumvirs in 1915 and carried on for a number of years. In the early 1900s there were over 500 thousand Arameans in Tur Abdin, in south eastern Turkey on the Syrian border, an area which today is mostly inhabited by Kurds. Today, there are just 2500 Arameans left and they are still being persecuted.
