Shot and edited in 1 month on no budget and created as a labor of love to raise awareness for the non-profit Free Arts of AZ, film maker Phyllis Lane wanted to show the power of Creativity and it's ability to heal and transform lives. Lane traveled the country and interviewed artists, writers, musicians (including Carlos Santana), athletes (including NBA Steve Nash), children, dancers, neuroscientists (including Dr. Joe Dispenza from What The Bleep), photographers (including Steve Mc Curry from National Geographic), filmmakers, and other creatives who have a unique perspective on creativity, what it is and why it is important. In this 29-minute doc, an abused child poet expresses how words have kept him going and healed his past, a dancer moves to the music, entering the Now, not knowing where the next step will be, a neuroscientist explains what happens in the brain when one is creative, and a world famous NBA star paints for the first time in his life. Says Lane, 'a single inspired idea can change many lives, that's why it is so important to tap into creativity. Everyone is an artist and being creative is our true nature. The Free Arts of AZ is a non-profit that works with abused, homeless and at-risk children. Through Volunteer outreach and mentoring, they use the power of the arts and creativity to change lives. This film has documented the healing ability of Creativity and has helped raise thousands of dollars for the work Free Arts does for children.
