Director: Schumacher College | Producer: Schumacher College
Focus Years: 2015 | Country: United Kingdom
Synopsis:
Sister Jewel is currently the Scholar in Residence at Schumacher College’s new Elmhirst Centre. Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh ordained her as a Buddhist nun in 1999 and a Dharma Teacher in 2007. Sister Jewel will explore how we can build community in our organizations and enterprises, and how this links to the practice of mindfulness. Thich Nhat Hanh has said that while the 20th century was a time of individualism, the 21st century needs to be the era of community.
Sister Jewel asks how we can support each other by cultivating our relationships in our places of work, learning to flow like a river rather than living as isolated drops of water. The Earth Talk includes experiential practice such as mindfulness exercises.
