Synopsis:
Water is not just a conversation: It is THE conversation. For the 19 million water-thirsty residents of Los Angeles, the L.A. River matters. In 1938, however, following massive floods, the grand waterway was turned into a concrete aqueduct, dried up, and is now known as the 51-mile long concrete river. How can this once plentiful river come back to life? Follow the fascinating history and future of the Los Angeles River as it roars back to life. Actor/Director Raphael Sbarge skillfully takes the viewer on a journey from the historical origins of the L.A. River to the present, as a billion-dollar restoration plan is underway to restore the river. In a grassroots movement, a poet, activists and the Army Corps of Engineers have grown together to forge a new river, one that can survive naturally in an urban city. THE conversation of water in Los Angeles is a spring of hope and inspiration to save The Los Angeles River, bring communities together and nourish the planet.
