Much has been written and many films have been produced in an attempt to explain what happened in the Ukrainian capital during the events on the Maidan Square from November 2013-April 2014. This brief documentary does not claim to provide any definitive answer as to what led to these dramatic events. Rather, it attempts to capture the sentiments of a small group of young Ukrainians and Russians (and one Canadian) who live in Kiev and Moscow and who were witnesses to some of the events. They are all about 20 years old.
The documentary was made in March, April of 2014 after Russia annexed Crimea and when the situation in Eastern Ukraine was becoming more aggravated. These, and the recent traumatic events in the Maidan, still clouded their vision. The young people in this film met each other during the production of this documentary. If nothing else, this brief documentary illustrates the difficulty of effective communication after passions have been raised and conflict has broken out.
