Synopsis:
The film Resistance tells the story about Nagdi villagers fighting for nearly 2 years against illegal acquisition of their 227acre agricultural land by the state government. Previously in 1957 also these lands were being acquired by Agriculture University, but later on this was stopped because of people's resistance. Now the government again wants to acquire this land to set up IIM, IIIT, and Law University without the villagers consent and violating 5thSchedule, PESA and CNT act. The government wants to acquire all this only by the means of police power.
The villagers of Nagdi aren't protesting against these academic institutions but they demand these institutions to be made on barren land and not on the agricultural lands of villagers. The villagers are not ready to part from their land and are demanding that their land should be given back to them. The villagers sought justice from the High Court and Supreme Court; meanwhile, the construction work for Law University is in progress. This film documents the struggle of this Nagdi village for their land and livelihood.
