Synopsis:
In the middle of the Mediterranean there is tiny island of stairs. 50 people and three children live there: Mirko, Valentino and Gabriele. At the the step 300 there's the school. Mirko, Valentino and Gabriele are the school's only pupils. Teachers come every week from the coast, more than 3 hours away by ferry. On Friday they all leave but Teresa, who lives on the island, at the same step 300. Teresa comes from a big city of the North and she'll soon get retired. Teresa is a modern and creative teacher who knows that traditional methods can't work with the sons of such a closed and impenetrable place. Growing up on a tiny island can be extremely frustrating, and pure violence often storms the classroom. Making the school possible there in spite all became the mission of her life. Mirko Valentino and Gabriele are Teresa's last, unpredictable pupils. After them they say that the school will close. Shot in a pure fly-on-the-wall style, "The last day tells" the daily life of the three pupils of one of the world's most incredible school, their liberating bond with the sea, the thoughts and the diary of Teresa, teacher and guardian of a unique experience now close to the end.
