TALK: Physicians routinely encounter the phenomenon of Death as also those involved with the care of Terminally ill. It brings us face to face with our human vulnerabilities and is indeed a great challenge. But what really is death? Is it the end of all existence or is it the beginning of a new and different mode of life? How can this deeper knowledge gained by spiritual experience be helpful in our everyday practice? How can we deal with the phenomenon of death more effectively and wisely in the light of spiritual understanding? The present interaction with the medical fraternity takes on some of these issues. The on-going pandemic is causing a significant number of sudden deaths, which brings both philosophical and practical aspects of dealing and coping with death and dying into the mainstream. Dr Alok Pandey, who complements his medical practice with spiritual inquiry and has authored a comprehensive book entitled "Death, Dying and Beyond", conducted this talk over Skype with medical professionals, but many topics are likely to be of considerable interest to spiritual seekers as well.
