Synopsis:
In Milan, an illegal Chinese immigrant is looking for any kind of work, but despite his efforts he cannot manage to build stability in a new country. He's lost in the city and he tries to find the feeling of home in the Chinese district. A permanent sense of insecurity get drowned in endless nights spent in a basement, working on a sewing machine. His only refuge to cope with loneliness is a mah-jong club. A fellow countryman gives him a few tips on how to survive “in hiding”, a small hope to fight homesickness, to give him the strength to fight for the family he left behind.
