Matangi is the ninth Devi in Dasha Mahavidyas. The words which come forth as speech in vykhari vak are extrapolated to Devi Matangi of Dasha Mahavidyas in tantra. In Srividya tradition, Matangi is said to be the mantri or minister of Lalitha Maha Tripurasundari and is called Mantrini. She is also known as Para- Bhattarika. It is only through Matangi one can reach Maha Tripurasundari, says tantra.
