Dr. Vandana Shiva is a world-renowned environmental thinker, activist, physicist, feminist, philosopher of science, writer and science policy advocate. In 1993 she was the recipient of the Right Livelihood Award, commonly known as the "Alternative Nobel Prize", and in 2010 Forbes Magazine identified Dr. Shiva as one of the Seven Most Powerful Women on the Globe.
During her keynote address at the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont's 35th annual winter conference at the University of Vermont, she challenges the dominant paradigm of non-sustainable, industrial agriculture and explains why we need an "organic" future.
