Synopsis:
"Facing the Wall: A Brief History of the Lac St-Jean Sound": several important musicians of the Quebec underground music scene question themselves on the origins of the unique signature of rock music in French, made by musicians from the rural region of Lac St-Jean, and the impact this music has had on musicians in the province. The Lac St-Jean sound distinguishes itself in the Quebec independant music scene as it successfully manages to use the French language to make grungy rock music, something which is a notable accomplishment due to the particular rhythm of French which traditionally clashes with rock music’s rhythm.
