Synopsis:
In November of 2007, a giant container ship rammed into the base of the San Francisco Bay Bridge, spilling 58,000 gallons of heavy fuel into the bay. Birds and beaches were covered with toxic fluid. But later that week, a whirlwind blew into town - her name is Amy Goodman. Goodman is the host of the daily independent news show, “Democracy Now!” which airs twice a day on Link TV. She came to San Francisco to talk to a sell-out crowd at The Green Festival, touching on the politics of oil, torture, and the media. Amy Goodman says that as an independent journalist her role is to go where the dark resides and shine a light there. In this presentation we air her rousing Green Festival speech, "Speaking out for Justice".
