Synopsis:
"Moskva-Chmelkova (Poem)" celebrates an invisible and secret Russia that lies behind a screen of fast and flashy vulgarity. It paints the highly colorful portraits of Russian women for whom art, humour, derision and frivolity save the country’s sanity and honour, and endear it to our hearts. Natalya Chmelkova, an eccentric Muscovite who inspired the painters of the 60s and 70s and was herself an art collector and intimate friend of the great iconoclast writer, Venedict Erofeev. She pays a visit to her artist friends, Natalya Sterkina, Klara Golitsyna and Viktor Kazarine. Former dissidents of the Soviet era, they all still live on the margins of Russian society.
