Director: Tracy Worcester | Producer: Tracy Worcester
Focus Years: 2010 | Country: United Kingdom
Synopsis:
"Pig Business" charts the four-year investigation by actress and eco-campaigner Tracy Worcester into the industrialization of pig farming. The film opens in the UK, where supermarket labels are do not say how and where pork has been produced. Filmed in the U.S.A., Brazil and Poland, there are interviews with corporate leaders, European bureaucrats and taxpayer-funded banks whose policies support a farming system which tortures animals, pollutes the environment, causes sickness and disease to workers and neighbors, causes MRSA and swine flu and pushes traditional farmers out of business. Featuring Robert Kennedy, Junior and other leading politicians, this convincing and absorbing film informs consumers about the shocking facts the meat corporations try to hide.
