Please note: This is a short film produced in 2009 as research material for a feature film by the same name, which was released later.
Because of the subprime crisis in summer 2008, Las Vegas surpassed Detroit as the emptiest city of the USA. When I was there in March 2009, there was another problem, too: their water resources were running dry. Some people were seeing their lake drying up further and further, thinking that even without water, Las Vegas will always be Las Vegas.
Exploring the inhabitant’s mind and the different areas of the city, I discovered that the American dream turned into a real dream, just like the strange ones you have when you’re asleep.
